Second quarter of 2008 (April – June)

In April 2008, the first stage of the restoration of the Bratislava Castle officially started with the submission of the building site to Váhostav-Sk, a.s. which will carry out the restoration work.

Collectibles and museum exhibits were all moved and stored in alternative storage places.

In regard to new fencing around the palace, which will be in place during the restoration works, the new sightseeing path situated in the Upper Eastern Terrace has been established in the interest of safety of visitors.

The organ, which sounded for the first time in Bratislava Castle in 1976, was professionally dismantled from the Music Hall and stored in a protected storage place.

An archaeological and historical survey started in the vestibule of the Constitutional Hall (in the area of original renaissance entrance to the palace) and building and technical surveys began in various areas of the palace, along with the removal of original flooring layers.
